Even during extended offensive sets, she is constantly alerting her teammates to picks, cutters, shooters, and ball location. Good luck getting a pass by her when her stick is up — her length makes her a matchup nightmare, and she uses it to her advantage often. She has the footwork to pick up her assignment as high as the restraining line, and does a nice job of choosing her spots to be aggressive. She also had a nice give-and-go goal in the final game of the afternoon.

The hometown kid had a strong showing in Owings Mills. Few showcased more complete dodge packages. At one point, she hesitated at the top of the arc, and as her defender backed off, expecting a drive to the cage, DiManno walked her down and sniped one straight on from the eight-meter mark. She is one of those players you cannot truly face-guard, because she will beat you with that first step and draw the help-side slide. She also showed relentless effort on the ride, coming up with an impressive caused turnover that led directly to a quick goal.

Nobody could match Lauren McClain's speed on Friday. A workhorse at midfield who rarely came out of games, her strong play on the defensive end is a catalyst for offensive opportunities. She has speed to burn, and when she secures ground balls and forces turnovers, which she does regularly, she is next to impossible to catch on the ride. Great footwork and hesitation moves up top, paired with her speed, make her a feared matchup offensively as well. She can dodge past her initial defender and burn the slide defender before she can get to her spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='74018' first='Ashley' last='Penn'] is a high-motor player and one who was a lot of fun to watch on Friday. Working primarily from "X", Penn is deceptive with her dodges and does not allow her defender to anticipate her move or direction. She works well with both hands and showed off a handful of impressive crease dodges into crafty finishes. All afternoon, Penn was able to explode from “X” and attack the crease with speed and footwork that defenders could not match.

One of the best feeders at Friday's showcase, [player_tooltip player_id='74022' first='Nylah' last='Ladu'] consistently showcased her ability to thread the needle through tight windows. Her head is always up, looking for the cutter, and she rarely misses one going to the cage. She made a handful of passes on Friday that most players would be afraid to try, all while making it look easy. In one instance, Ladu was up top with the ball when her teammate cut hard across the middle from the wing. She delivered the pass in stride, allowing her teammate to catch and shoot in one fluid motion for the finish.

The lefty goalie from California was one of the strongest of the bunch on Friday. Katragadda is extremely agile in the crease, and her strong lateral movement allows her to explode toward low shots in either direction, which she did a nice job of stopping all afternoon. She does a good job of stepping out to meet the shooter, helping her cover the over-the-top shots that her shorter frame might otherwise leave her vulnerable to. Elite Ivy League programs have been known to tap into the Orange County, California, pipeline in search of West Coast talent, and Katragadda fits the bill as a potential goalie for one of these programs.

A dynamic “X” attacker, Cregan has both the footwork and burst of speed to dictate her matchups, which she did all afternoon on Friday. In one instance, Cregan caught the ball at “X,” worked towards GLE, established body positioning on her defender, waited for the overcommitment, and blew past her for an uncontested goal. She does a good job of reading her defender's reactions, and when she sees one she likes, she exploits it for an easy goal.
