Nobody could match Lauren McClain’s speed on Friday. A workhorse at midfield who rarely came out of games, her strong play on the defensive end is a catalyst for offensive opportunities. She has speed to burn, and when she secures ground balls and forces turnovers, which she does regularly, she is next to impossible to catch on the ride. Great footwork and hesitation moves up top, paired with her speed, make her a feared matchup offensively as well. She can dodge past her initial defender and burn the slide defender before she can get to her spot.
