Lax for the Cure took place June 25-27 for the 2027-2029 graduation classes. The event was held at Allentown High School and New Egypt High School, both in New Jersey. Lax for the Cure youth took place on June 19-20 for the 2030-2035 graduation classes.

"Lax For The Cure was founded by Jessica Shoulberg, CFO of STEPS Lacrosse LLC, Former State Champion and Coach of the Year at Mendham High School and member of the Inaugural Women's Lacrosse team at Notre Dame.

During the summer of 2007 The STEPS Lacrosse club had 3 mothers fighting breast cancer. Jessica's concept came from the notion that with the growth of girls lacrosse and summer tournament circuit, that an opportunity presented itself to start a tournament that would meet the ideals of players, parents, clubs, and college coaches. The goal was to ultimately find a way to raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

Jessica's husband, Charlie Shoulberg, founder and CEO of STEPS Lacrosse, and former Asst. GM of the US Men's National Team contacted The Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation. Komen embraced the idea that one of the fastest growing demographics of well educated, motivated, and pro-active young women are playing lacrosse" (Lax for the Cure).

This year they raised over $6.1 million for breast cancer.

Here are the standouts from one of the best events this summer:

Goodenough will blow by her defender if she presses out on her. She can get downhill easily and is a hard dodger. The California native works very well off-ball and makes great cuts. On one possession, she sat on the crease, came upfield, caught the ball, and turned and scored. Her stick skills are elite. Against Florida Select, she had a great strip and ground ball.

Gormsen, the midfielder out of Virginia who attends Georgetown Visitation (D.C.), is a tall 2-way player. Against Salt City Snipers, she had a nice right-to-left split dodge down the alley that missed wide but had some heat on it. She is two-handed and can finish lefty. On one possession, her defender played her in the back corner of the field. Gormsen blew by the pressure and ran right to the goal with ease. She had a nice takeaway check in the same game. Gormsen is a really great player. College coaches need to keep an eye on her this summer.

Quinn is as dominant as they come. Against NXT, she started from behind the goal and took her defender 1v1, turned the corner, and got topside for the goal. On another possession, she was heavily defended and pulled out a question mark dodge, rolling back to her right hand. Her eight-meter step-down shot is a cannon. On the ride, she goes as hard as anyone. The 6'0” lefty attacker takes the draw and gets ground balls off the draw. Her stock is rising tremendously, and it's not stopping.

Defenders can try to body Carcaterra, but it doesn't faze her. Over the last year, Carcaterra has risen to the occasion; she's very fun to watch. She wants to win very badly. Her footwork is quick, and it allows her to blow by her defender. She gets downhill. Carcaterra's lefty shot is as good as her righty shot. If you give her the left alley, she will exploit that and finish. People can talk and say what they want. She is the No. 1 Player in the Class for a reason. You have to look at her long-term and her ceiling. She's only getting better, and there are areas she can keep improving on. That's what makes her the top recruit. Her ceiling is so incredibly high.

Beard drives very hard to the goal and can get downhill. She can finish through traffic and contact. Coming in off the circle, she makes great reads. She absolutely shook her defender in their game against Mad Dog West Elite. Diehl had a really nice skip pass to an open cutter and got the assist. Her vision is really good. With how dominant she is when scoring and off the dodge, her ability to distribute the ball sometimes gets overlooked.

The 5'11” defender out of William Penn Charter School (Pa.) was dominant on the draw against LI Top Guns. She pressures her matchup really well on defense. In one game against NXT, she made a player pass the ball out of bounds, with great pressure on her. Regan has a nice on-the-run shot. In the same game, she caught the ball on the crease with a defender wrapped around her and somehow finished the ball and got a goal. She clears the ball very well. This is a player that will be high on college coaches' recruiting boards.

Kealty stands at 5'10” and can run the floor really well. A good two-way middie.
