Time and time again, the speedy defender successfully moved the ball between the 30s and took off like a rocket, creating momentum for her team. Her defensive presence was lights out all game long, but what made her stand out even more was her ability to follow strong defensive possessions with phenomenal transition play. She played with nonstop energy and proved to be one of the best defensive players on the field. She will take her talent to Towson.

The Duke commit and defensive leader proved why she is one of the top defenders in the country. After setting program history for ground balls and caused turnovers at Episcopal, [player_tooltip player_id='72754' first='Caitlin' last='McCarthy'] brought that same relentless fight into the championship game. She is a lockdown defender with phenomenal footwork, elite speed, and the ability to read the ball at a high level. McCarthy consistently disrupted offensive movement, played aggressively on every possession, and showed incredible stick protection when clearing the ball under pressure.

[player_tooltip player_id='72758' first='Avery' last='Buckley'] was a major standout for Episcopal Academy throughout the championship, constantly making big-time defensive plays to keep her team within reach. The Virginia Tech commit showcased strong 1v1 defense and was especially effective in the clear, helping Episcopal maintain composure against one of the top teams in the country. Her versatility on defense and in transition stood out, and she consistently played with confidence, toughness, and high defensive IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='72757' first='Anna' last='MacFarland'] played a huge role for Episcopal with her ability to impact the game both defensively and in transition. Many times throughout the game, she helped her team settle possession under pressure and made smart decisions moving the ball up the field. MacFarland uses her size and strength extremely well, making her presence known throughout the championship matchup. Whether it was forcing stops on the defensive end or finding the open player in transition, she consistently played with composure and confidence. Her ability to make the right pass at the right moment helped Episcopal stay organized and competitive throughout the game. The sophomore defender is one to keep an eye on this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='72755' first='Ailyah' last='Leonard'] was phenomenal defensively throughout the championship and played a huge role in slowing down some of the best offensive players on the field. Although Episcopal ultimately fell short against Penn Charter, Crowther kept the game competitive with multiple phenomenal saves against some of the nation's top offensive talent. Her IQ in the cage immediately stood out, as she stayed composed under pressure and consistently put herself in a great position to make difficult stops. Crowther played with confidence and toughness throughout the game and truly looked like a brick wall in net. Her performance gave Episcopal opportunities to stay within striking distance all championship long.
