Bella Cappelli Bella Cappelli 5'5" | Midfield West Chester Rustin | 2029 PA plays her club ball with Dynasty Elite and her high school ball at West Chester Rustin, one of PA’s top Class 2A programs. Her tenacity on the defensive end stood out Saturday, particularly out wide in open space, where she locked up some of the nation’s best. Her offensive game has taken a big step since the summer, as Cappelli has become a true two-way midfielder who can turn a stop on one end into a fast-break opportunity the other way. As an initiator up top, she wins her matchup and draws slides, creating opportunities for herself and her teammates. She is a gifted feeder with a feel for the game beyond her years, putting the ball right in her teammates’ sticks with well-timed, leading feeds.

An absolute workhorse of a two-way midfielder, Bella Cappelli Bella Cappelli 5'5" | Midfield West Chester Rustin | 2029 PA is going to be a highly sought-after recruit a year from now. She was one of the standout 2029s from the Top Threat Championship in New Jersey this summer. Regardless of whether she has to match step with a shifty dodger or body up against a bigger player, Cappelli is going to outclass her assignment in strength and physicality. Her power can be deceptive, not the first thing you notice, but it becomes apparent quickly when you watch her play. She forces a lot of turnovers with her tenacious style of play and has the athleticism to recover and maintain body positioning when she goes for the ball. Regularly provides those defense-to-offense coast-to-coast spark plays.

Bella Cappelli Bella Cappelli 5'5" | Midfield West Chester Rustin | 2029 PA does it all. Need a goal in crunch time — find Cappelli. Need a defensive stop — put Cappelli on the opposing team’s number one option. She has a knack for big moments, and like her teammate Viv Ardell Viv Ardell 5'3" | Goalie | Right Hand West Chester Rustin | 2029 PA , also featured on this list, she seems to show up when the lights are brightest.

You cannot give Cappelli an inch of space. She can fire from distance and from multiple angles to get her shot on cage. Her dodges are dynamic, and she has the quick first step out of them to beat her defender and get north-south for a high-percentage look. She can dodge from anywhere — up top, behind the cage at the X, in transition. It does not matter.

On the defensive end, few are as physical as Cappelli. She is a tenacious defender. One of her most refined attributes is her defense on free-position attempts. Cappelli is relentless on eight-meter and twelve-meter attempts, willing to chase defenders all the way to the cage to alter shots. She plays with a level of fearlessness that is rarely seen, especially from a freshman going up against bigger, stronger players.

Cappelli netted three of West Chester Rustin’s eight goals on Tuesday, including the go-ahead goal — a beautifully executed wraparound with under a minute left in regulation. On a young team with plenty of runway ahead, she and goalkeeper Viv Ardell Viv Ardell 5'3" | Goalie | Right Hand West Chester Rustin | 2029 PA look every bit like future Division I college lacrosse players.
