College Coaches: High-Upside Sleeper Players Still on the Board

On 7/1, the Service Academies could officially talk to recruits in the Class of 2028. From 7/1-8/31, 15 players committed to Army and Navy.   Starting on 9/1, at 12 pm every other Non-Service Academy D1 program in the country could officially talk to the Class of 2028. (D2, D3, and NAIA can contact before 9/1).   Going into 9/1, there were: 9 Navy, 6 Army, and 1 Lewis University(Ill., D2) commits.   <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Al_xT1EO-QbknCGGuLLnhJLiLHNuA8r5-65QOm63k5I/edit?usp=sharing" data-type="link" data-id="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Al_xT1EO-QbknCGGuLLnhJLiLHNuA8r5-65QOm63k5I/edit?usp=sharing">Since 9/1, there have been over 225+ commitemnts in the Class of 2028. Over 96% of the commitments are going to Division 1 programs. According to our Prep Girls Lacrosse Commitment Tracker, there are officially 240+ commitments across D1-D3.</a>   While many schools are still recruiting, there are a lot of uncommitted Class of 2028 recruits. Here are five high-upside sleeper players still on the board:    The St. Anthony's (N.Y.) attacker is a QB when she's behind at “X.” Extremely hard to guard her 1v1 because she can beat her matchup righty or lefty. When you think of a pure 2-handed player in the Class of 2028, Gallagher shoots up to the top of the list. She is a crafty dodger. Gallagher can score coming up from “X,” or she can explode and get downhill. Her IQ is high. One of the top things about her game is her ability to rip the ball right-handed or left-handed. At the college level, she can be used anywhere on the offensive side of the ball because she can dodge from all over.     The 6'1” attacker from Toronto, Ontario plays club for Rock Stars and high school ball for The Taft School (Conn.). The natural lefty is athletic and strong. She can dodge from back at “X,” turn the corner quickly, get topside, and score. Ruscitti is a good dodger, and a coaching staff can make her an even better dodger. She has good upside, lots of room to get better.     The Massachusetts native has a high upside at the college level. She plays super aggressive defense and will lay someone out. In 1v1 situations, she is super physical. Reynolds plays her angles and drives players out. Her value from a recruiting standpoint skyrockets because she can stay down on the offensive side and can play offense. The Laxachusetts product is a clearing defender and can take it to the rack.     Farwell had a stellar summer campaign. Her upside is high for the college level; she has good potential. A smooth and clean operator when she dodges; it looks very natural. She normally operates back at “X” & low on the goalie's right side. The Delaware native is a good dodger and re-dodger. The one thing that stands out to me is her body control when dodging. This is a skill that she can bring to the next level. College coaches that get creative in their man-up situations need to bring in Farwell. She can be used in many different man-up situations/packages. A very good shooter from the outside. A true stretch shooter; gets off quick shots. Her ability to feed and distribute the ball also adds value to her game.     The 5'10” right-handed attacker is a very balanced player. She is equally as good a scorer as she is a feeder. The McDonogh School (Md.) product is a great player in the 2-man game. Walsh can score a lot of goals off of cuts. She can score from all over and get downhill. An extremely fundamental player.
