Expert Analysis
Riley Kennedy | Prep Girls Lacrosse Scout
Farwell had a stellar summer campaign. Her upside is high for the college level; she has good potential. A smooth and clean operator when she dodges; it looks very natural. She normally operates back at “X” & low on the goalie’s right side. The Delaware native is a good dodger and re-dodger. The one thing that stands out to me is her body control when dodging. This is a skill that she can bring to the next level. College coaches that get creative in their man-up situations need to bring in Farwell. She can be used in many different man-up situations/packages. A very good shooter from the outside. A true stretch shooter; gets off quick shots. Her ability to feed and distribute the ball also adds value to her game.

Farewell is a matchup nightmare who can generate offense in nearly every imaginable way. She is an elusive, persistent dodger with a sharp roll dodge, great pull dodge, and the quickness to keep attacking until she creates the opening she wants. From “X,” Farewell serves as an offensive quarterback who can facilitate, feed with accuracy, or reach goal line extended and score with an impressive fadeaway release. Her lethal sidearm shot, powerful jump shot, and creative finishes allow her to strike from several angles and distances. She is also physical and relentless on the ride, gaining possession back for her team very often. Farewell’s ability to score, distribute, and release unexpectedly makes her one of the most diverse offensive threats in the class.

Madelyn “Red Panda” Farwell is one of the top players in the class of 2028, and she has gotten better with each passing event. What separates Farwell is her plethora of release points. She can get her shot off in any situation. She had a behind-the-back wormburner posted up on the left elbow that traveled no more than an inch off the ground before pinging the inside post. Not to mention the handful of other flashy finishes she had this weekend as well. She does what she wants offensively and can call her own number to put one in the back of the net when her team needs it. What she lacks in height she makes up for with her ability to draw contact, regularly ending up at the eight-meter mark as a result, an area in which she is nearly automatic. College coaches, do not waste time. Farwell will be a highly recruited prospect from the moment the window opens at noon on September 1.

Farwell had a stellar summer campaign. In her game against Team West, she drove upfield up the hashes and ripped the ball in the nearside top corner. In a different game against Team Long Island, she had an on-the-run righty snipe that stuck the top corner. Farwell had an amazing assist as the 1st half buzzer went off; she drew the slide and dumped it inside. Her release points on her shots are amazing. Farwell can read the defenses at a high level and throw skip passes. She plays like a college player with her high-level IQ.

Farwell is a smooth and clean dodger. She has a crazy quick inside roll that she smokes defenders with. Her vision stood out in her game against Salt City Snipers. The attacker from Delaware ripped an underhand shot off the eight meter. In her game against Laxachusetts, she came up from “X” and made an unbelievable shot that she put in on the nearside pipe. The NXT product can pull out BTB shots, which are so impressive.

Farwell has high upside and strong potential at the college level. She is so entertaining to watch. Farwell normally operates back at “X” and low on the goalie’s right side. A really crafty attacker who can work in tight vicinities because she has quick feet and a quick change of direction. She has a variety of dodges in her bag. Great at dodging and then re-dodging. Farwell can create her own shot and win her 1v1 matchups. She has great vision. She also rides hard to get the ball back.
