Lacrosse Masters, hosted by Tim McDonnell, kicked off its girls lacrosse camp series on June 9 in Farmington, Connecticut, with the 6th Annual Girls High Academic Division I Summer Recruiting Prospect Camp. Representing some of the nation's most selective universities, coaches from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Harvard, Michigan, Notre Dame, Princeton, Stanford, Penn, Vanderbilt, and Yale were in attendance. Every school represented has an acceptance rate below 20%, with most admitting fewer than 10% of applicants each year.

The Lacrosse Masters event in Farmington, Connecticut brought together players from across the country and gave them a chance to compete against strong competition in front of college coaches. Over the course of two days several players in the Class of 2028 consistently stood out with their skill, decision-making, and ability to impact the game. Whether it was creating offense, finding open teammates, or finishing around the cage, these attackers made their presence known in different ways. Here are some of the Class of 2028 attackers who caught my eye throughout Lacrosse Masters CT.

Paige Kitay's versatility on the offensive side of the ball is what stood out throughout the event. Being comfortable with either hand allowed her to stay unpredictable and defensively hard to force to her “weak” hand. Additionally, her stick skills as a whole were amazing. Paige was catching pretty much everything, which allowed her to be a facilitator on the offensive end.

Meena Brosco showed a strong offensive IQ throughout the event, consistently making smart decisions with the ball in her stick. She did a great job creating quality shooting angles, including finding difficult looks that many players would not even attempt. Her ability to turn and shoot quickly allowed her to capitalize on opportunities before defenses could recover. Additionally, Meena worked the crease well, using her positioning and awareness to create space for herself and generate scoring chances. Her combination of shot-making ability and decision-making made her a reliable offensive threat.

Margaret Fykes was one of the most “full package” attackers I watched at Lacrosse Masters. She consistently found quality scoring opportunities while also setting up plays for her teammate to also see the back of the net. Her ability to finish from multiple angles and her confidence to take risky shots made her especially difficult to defend.

Marygrace Lawry excelled behind the crease, as well as using the crease to her advantage. She has a good understanding of timing and the space she needs in order to set herself up for a shot, as well as knowing when it's better to dish it off. She had a handful of difficult, angled shots that somehow made their way to the back of the net.

Ainsley Shissler's stick work immediately stood out throughout the event. She was incredibly shifty with the ball in her stick, making defenders work hard to keep up with her movements. What impressed me most was her variety of shot selection and her ability to place shots exactly where they needed to be. Whether creating space for herself or getting a shot off quickly, Ainsley consistently found ways to generate quality offensive opportunities. Her quick release made it difficult for goalies to react, adding another layer to an already dangerous offensive game.

Ella Horn's patience with the ball stood out throughout the event. Rather than forcing opportunities, she consistently read the defense well and worked defenders to get the exact look she wanted. What was especially impressive was how fluid her hands were, making it difficult to tell if she favored one hand over the other. She was comfortable changing angles and adjusting to what the defense gave her. Additionally, her shot placement was consistently strong, putting the ball in spots that made life difficult for goalies. Her combination of patience, lacrosse IQ, and fluid stick skills made her a dangerous offensive threat.

Joyce Shi's field vision stood out throughout the event. Whether operating up top or working lower on the offensive end, she consistently showed the ability to see plays develop and make the right read. She protected the ball extremely well, even when defenders applied pressure, allowing her to maintain possession and keep the offense moving. Additionally, Joyce took contact well and did not shy away from physical play, often playing through checks while staying composed with the ball in her stick. Her combination of vision, ball protection, and toughness made her a reliable offensive presence throughout the weekend.
