Few defenders at Saturday’s showcase looked as composed as Sadie Tengwall Sadie Tengwall 5'4" | Defense | Right Hand Villa Maria Academy | 2029 PA . A crease defender for Villa Maria and NXT, the Malvern native gave her goalkeeper a reliable presence in the 6v6 format, consistently getting her stick into shooting lanes and making life difficult for attackers around the cage. She also stood out for her poise, directing traffic and helping organize the defense as possessions developed. In open-space 1v1 situations, Tengwall showed excellent footwork and the ability to stay in front of opposing attackers. Her athleticism backed up what she showed on the field, as she finished near the top 10 in both the 5-10 fly and 5-10-5. Tengwall looks primed for a big spring and has the potential to emerge as one of Pennsylvania’s premier defensive prospects. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her verbally committed to a top Division I program by this time next year.
