About Haley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my game play style as a strong, athletic two-way midfielder with a high motor, strong in transition, and capable of making plays on both ends of the field. I am a versatile two-player who pushes transition, creates offense, and applies pressure defensively.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe myself as someone who has a competitive mindset in everything I do. I am resilient and both mentally and physically tough. I love to be challenged and work with others in all aspects of my life. I love being around people and being part of a team. I would say I exhibit a team first attitude, I value team success and love working and learning from others.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through lacrosse, I’ve developed leadership by encouraging my teammates, communicating on the field, and setting a strong example through effort and attitude. I try to stay positive, help keep the team motivated, and support others during both practices and games. Playing on a team has taught me how important communication, trust, and cooperation are. I’ve learned to work with my teammates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I would say the most significant challenge I have faced and I would assume most student-athletes face is balancing my academic and athletic life. I try to be mindful of my time management and plan ahead in order to take care of myself. I feel that it is important to prioritize important tasks and keep focused and take care of my body.

Haley Washall is a ball hawk who does not shy away from physicality. A true two-way player, Washall did a little bit of everything for Sacred Heart on both ends of the field on Friday night.

She finished with a team-high three goals, but it was her effectiveness in the draw circle that allowed Sacred Heart to control possession in the second half.

Washall won four draw controls, where her height and physicality make her a matchup nightmare against even the best draw specialists in the country.
