Northeast 2028s: Who’s Off the Board?

September 1 was the first day Division I coaches could officially contact Class of 2028 recruits, making it a highly anticipated day in the recruiting process. Once September 1 hit, top players from all over the country announced their commitment to play at the higher level. Here are six players from the Northeast who picked up the phone.    Green is a lefty player from New Jersey, currently on the National Watch List and committed to the University of South Florida. Green does not shy away from aggressive defense and handles pressure well, adapting to her defender quickly and figuring out a way to get around, usually leading to a goal or advancing the offense. Her dodges are fast and deceptive, and paired with her stick skills, she becomes dangerous in a 1v1 situation. Her speed on the ride is also impressive, allowing her to slow down transitions and create opportunities for turnovers.     Hedden is a righty attacker, currently ranked No. 61 in the Class of 2028 by Prep Girls Lacrosse and committed to the University of Michigan. Hedden is a fun player to watch. She has great ball control in both her right and left hand, giving her a wide variety of shots. She is also creative with her shots, so once her hands are free, she's a threat. Hedden is good at using her body to protect her stick on dodges, getting herself and the ball around defenders to create an angle at goal.     Knight, currently ranked No. 62 nationally in the Class of 2028 by Prep Girls Lacrosse and on the USA Lacrosse U17 National Team, is staying close to home, committing to Rutgers to play at the next level. Knight is skilled at any spot on attack, with a strong crease roll and the ability to feed from any area. She also has a rocker dodge which confuses defenders and creates open lanes to goal. Knight loves forcing turnovers, using her speed to catch up to opponents and deliver a clean back check to regain possession for her team. Overall, Knight is a threat at any spot and at any time on the field.     Kubrich is currently ranked in the Top 100 in the Class of 2028 by Prep Girls Lacrosse and is committed to Yale University. Kubrich plays with intensity and speed that show up in every play. On the circle, she's quick off the whistle and tracks the ball with ease to secure possession for her team. Her cuts are intentional and, paired with her speed, get her open in the 8 for a clean shot on goal. On defense, she reads the play well and is prepared to bring backup to her teammates, shutting down offensive opportunities.     McGrath is committed to Harvard University. She has a high IQ, allowing her to step up and help her teammates find offensive opportunities before the defense can catch on. She also has quick and direct feeds, leading to goals for her team. While McGrath utilizes multiple effective dodges, her split dodge stands out. She makes her defenders bite on her dodges, allowing her to blow past them for a strong shot on goal.     Rogozinski is committed to the University of Maryland. Rogozinski plays with passion and intensity whenever she steps on the field. She applies great pressure in on‑ball situations, stopping offensive motion and forcing her opponent to pass out or drop the ball. On 8‑meter shots, she's quick to get her stick in front of the ball and cause turnovers. On ground balls, she runs through them cleanly and beats her opponents with ease. In transition, she uses her speed to get the ball downfield.
