Summer Showcase Notes: 2028s and 2029s

Standouts of the summer:    Brighthaupt is a strong defender who uses her stick well on cutters to deny goals. She slides effectively and plays with disciplined defense. She also has a good lacrosse IQ and a relentless nature. She plays aggressively, doing anything to help her team gain possession. She is also a key player in transition, unafraid to go coast to coast. Overall, Brighthaupt is a gritty and powerful defender.     Appollonia, also known as Apple, is a very strong all-around player. She is quick on her dodges, pushes fast in transition, and has great handles. Defensively, she is aggressive but controlled, stays low, and is relentless.   She reads the field well on both sides of the ball and understands when to attack the cage, when to look for teammates, and when to add pressure defensively. In transition, she does a great job keeping her head up, finding teammates, and trusting the play. She is gritty, reads feeds well, and has strong stick work, good dodges, and a strong drive and redrive. Overall, Apple is a smart, composed, and competitive player who impacts the game in multiple ways.     Ireland has strong stick skills, strong footwork, and good field awareness. She handles pressure well. She is also a key player in transition and in fast breaks. She stays composed on defense and forces away from the goal effectively while still maintaining positioning. In transition, she has her head up, looking for a lane or teammate to pass to. Overall, Ireland is a very strong player who needs to be looked at.     Warren is a strong, gritty, and aggressive player who brings a lot of intensity to the field. She handles pressure well and plays like she is playing in a championship game each time she steps on the field. She is very fast in transition and uses her speed to make an impact on both ends. Defensively, she has good awareness of when to check, when to slide, and when to help. She consistently gets her stick in the lane, disrupts feeds, and makes it difficult for the offense. Stella is a tough, strong player who plays with confidence and urgency.     Maddie Lane is a very smart player with a high IQ of the game. She does an excellent job of finding open lanes when her defender gets distracted, using that awareness to cut, get into position, and create scoring opportunities. She is strong on the crease, tracks the ball well, and always seems to find a way to be around the play. Maddie is also a strong redefender who can cause turnovers, throw needed checks, and slow the ball down in transition. When in transition, she is fast and reliable, making smart decisions. She reads her teammates well, knows when to feed, and, as some can say, she is a magnet, finding the ball anywhere she goes to ultimately score.     Lee is a gritty midfielder who goes after every ground ball and makes her presence felt all over the field. She is strong on the draw, has solid stick skills, communicates well defensively, and plays with a team-first mentality. She directs the offense away from the goal with good footwork and strong decision-making. Offensively, she stood out with her quick dodges and powerful shots, creating space and getting looks on cage from anywhere. Her powerful rip on the 8-meter is accurate and shows her strength. She also has a strong lacrosse IQ, reading the defense well whether she is cutting or feeding, and keeping her head up as she waits for the right opportunity to attack.     Brown is an athletic, high-IQ player who is quick, strong on draw, and relentless. She handles pressure well, drives hard to the goal, has strong fakes and dodges, and places her shots well on the cage. Defensively, she reads the offense, anticipates passes, creates knockdowns, communicates well, and causes turnovers with positioning and timely interceptions. She also knows when to read the defense, cut hard, drive to the goal, or keep her head up to find an open teammate for an assist. Overall, she is a selfless player with grit, determination, and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways.     Berrier is a speedy attacker with strong stick skills, great field awareness, and the ability to go coast-to-coast. She plays fast, dodges well, and has a hard, accurate shot with great sidearm placement. She is quick off the circle on the draw and reads the defense well, knowing when to cut when her defender gets distracted or when to catch them off guard on a drive. Lindley has a powerful rip and consistently creates scoring opportunities. She is determined, strong, and plays with a high lacrosse IQ.     Pierson is a strong attacker who reads the defense well and recognizes when defenders are not looking, using those moments to her advantage. She is strong on the crease, has a great dodge, and finishes with a powerful shot. Her timing on cuts stands out, especially when she sees the defense stepping up and uses that space to dodge, attack, and rip a shot off. She cuts effectively, handles pressure well, and plays with strong instincts. Overall, Madeline is a strong, gritty, and smart player who knows how to create opportunities around the cage.     Gentile is a relentless and versatile player who brings speed, awareness, and toughness to the field. She is a key player on fast breaks, handles pressure well, and stays composed when driving into traffic. She reads the defense, cuts hard for feeds, and can get around defenders to create space and take a quick shot. Her crease rolls and ability to create scoring chances really stood out. Gentile also reads clears well, turning interceptions into goal opportunities. She listens to her teammates, sees open cutters even under heavy pressure, and makes smart decisions with the ball.
