Prep Girls Lacrosse Brings Universal Speed Rating to Elite Camps
Verified, standardized athletic testing comes to the Elite Camp in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast
Prep Girls Lacrosse is teaming up with Universal Speed Rating (USR) to bring standardized athletic testing to both of its upcoming Elite Camps: Elite Camp: Mid-Atlantic in Manheim, PA, and Elite Camp: Southeast in Rock Hill, SC. USR will be on site at each camp, and testing is built into the camp schedule. Every athlete will be measured the same way, with the same protocols used at events nationwide. Players leave with objective, verified numbers that college coaches can trust, wherever they're from.
What Athletes Will Be Tested On
At both camps, every athlete will complete four USR tests . Each test targets movements that decide lacrosse games:
- 5 + 10 Fly: first-step quickness and acceleration, like beating a defender to a ground ball or winning the race off the draw.
- 5-10-5 Agility: change-of-direction speed for dodging, sliding and recovering on defense.
- 30 + 10 Fly: top-end speed for clearing, riding and running in transition.
- Broad Jump: lower-body explosiveness that drives cuts, sprints and shot power.
Coaches see these traits on the field every game. USR testing puts a verified number on them.
Results That Go Beyond Camp Day
Test results will appear on:
- The National USR Leaderboard, where athletes can see how they compare with players across the country
- Each athlete's Prep Girls Lacrosse profile, which college coaches can see
After camp, athletes can visit a nearby USR Speed Lab for targeted training and retesting. That lets them show verified improvement over time instead of just claiming it. Athletes attending both camps can also track their progress from October to December.
Why It Matters
