Class of 2029: Standouts this Summer

The Class of 2029 will have all eyes on them come this Fall. Here are standouts from this summer:    Quinn Powers is very calculated in her decision-making. She prioritized the best opportunity for her team over herself. She can draw doubles and even triples purposefully with the mindset to hit her teammate where the slide came from. You could easily see her advanced IQ and team-first mentality.     Lainie Friedman finds a way to creatively and consistently find the back of the net. She moves goalies with ease and isn't afraid of heavy contact. Friedman can drive from low to high and rip shots from the elbow to give her team a momentum swing. On the circle, she plays tough. Friedman can dominate from many different spots on offense.     Avery Dodson is a superior dodger and finisher. What makes her stand out, in addition to her speed, is that she shoots and drives with confidence regardless of the situation. Whether she's driving down the middle of the 8-meter or down the alley, using her right or left hand, the shot quality is the same. She is someone you want the ball with if the game is on the line.     Shaloub is an intimidating defender. With a huge wingspan, she easily knocks the ball down in passing lanes. She comes up with clutch ground balls to secure possession and is a large part of the transitional game. In terms of her defensive unit, she is a proactive communicator, giving direction throughout the entire possession.     McRae is not a flashy player, but if you watch her closely, you can see why she brings so much success to herself and others. She understands the 2-man game very well, but most of all, the timing of separation from her teammate. McRae thrives in the quick slip separation after setting up a teammate. She is a confident finisher inside the 8-meter, even in traffic.     DeBose is an incredibly agile player who creates a lot of space due to her rapid change of direction. She rips shots on the run. Her feet are fast and unpredictable. She utilizes her speed well with explosive off-ball cuts.     Crisafulli threads the needle with ease. She understands how to shoot from close to her body in tight spaces for powerful finesse finishes. What is most impressive is her non-verbal communication with her teammates. She clearly is the quarterback of her team, giving nods and other signals to her teammates of where to cut and when, then hitting them with a perfect feed.     Piper Brawley dominates the draw. Brawley exercises patience offensively, feeling for the defensive contact and moves accordingly. She has a great shot under pressure. She is an all-around impact player.     Macbeth is a strong dodger. She is very good at baiting defenders to set herself up for success. She has a great top-shelf shot, which she will take with either hand. She drives with her head up, consistently looking for others.     Poppy McGowan is a player who is all over the field. Offensively, she has an explosive first step and a great on-the-run shot. She plays midfield but also takes the ball below GLE and can dodge and score. She is physical and fearless on the draw circle.     Possession is something that Rasmussen specializes in. She is a great self-draw taker, but also can read the opponent to made adjustments. Rasmussen also stands out with her ability to make the right play. She will pass up a shot to feed a teammate who has a better look. A true team-first style player.
