MidAtlantic Summer: 2029 Standouts

The MidAtlantic Summer Championships tournament in Maryland had some insane weather, but also impressive performances to match. These 2029s helped to drive their teams' success.    [player_tooltip player_id='75418' first='Delaney' last='Holt'] is a high attacker who isn't afraid to let it fly. She uses her jab step so effectively. She is able to move a defender's body, even when exaggerating or overplaying a side, to be able to drive where she wants to go. She shoots with strength and precision consistently.     [player_tooltip player_id='75417' first='Jade' last='Brock'] had a large defensive presence this tournament. She is intimidating to offensive players and prides herself on causing turnovers and pressure defense. Transitionally, she has great strength and speed and is able to push the ball with ease. She is a natural leftie and thrives on a downhill dodge and shot.     The left-handed player was lethal on the draw circle. She beat opponents consistently any time the ball was on the ground. In addition, she connected consistently, ripping shots on the run the second she got her hands free. She kept her team very competitive within their games.     [player_tooltip player_id='75415' first='Ava' last='Wolpaw'] had dominant performances this weekend. As a low attacker, she had a great understanding of how her natural shiftiness could expose different dodges and passing lanes. She was seen inside crease rolling after baiting her defenders high more than a few times. In addition, she looks to feed as much as she looks for dodges herself and hits those feeds consistently. She also thrived on the fast break, reading the defense shifting and how to expose the open spaces.     What made [player_tooltip player_id='75416' first='Channing' last='Hodor'] stand out this weekend was her high IQ. She initiates contact with defenders purely with the intention to cause separation to feed her teammates. She finishes her own shots well in tight spaces and traffic. On top of it all, she takes the draw and comes up with some clutch ground balls to secure possession in tight games.     [player_tooltip player_id='75428' first='Mimi' last='Rubino'] had some standout performances this weekend. She held her space well and truly made the other team work for any goals they got. She did not fall for fakes and, at times, made multiple saves in a single possession. She also recognized when the quick clear was there, allowing her team to push a fast break the other direction.     When the Blue Stars were in tight games, Dylan Prizzi came up with some momentum-changing moments. Her ability to transition the ball and blow by multiple players in the process got her teammates screaming on the sidelines. She came up with 50/50 balls and made smart decisions once she had possession. She is also a very strong dodger, both in the midfield and on the attacking end.
