Finnerty is a physical defender whose awareness and communication help keep her unit organized. She competes hard in 1v1 situations, pressures attackers, and understands how to work with her teammates through switches and slides. Her active stick and positioning in passing lanes allow her to intercept passes and disrupt possessions before the offense can settle into a rhythm. She brings a strong understanding of the defensive end and stays engaged in both her own matchup and the action around her. A driven athlete and supportive teammate, Finnerty pairs her defensive ability with leadership and a strong work ethic. College coaches looking for a dependable, communicative defender should have her on their radar.
