Expert Analysis
Justin Staggers | Prep Girls Lacrosse Scout
Sound Lacrosse has had no shortage of standout defenders come through the ranks over the past few seasons, and 2029 Madeline Treacy looks like the next one. Treacy plays defense with a mean streak, and her physicality in open space stood out most Sunday. In 1v1 crease drills, she gave every attacker she faced fits. On one rep, she poked the ball free, and when the attacker tried to box her out to resecure it, Treacy used her length to go up and over the top and come away with it. In the full-field games, her effort between the 30s as a clearing defender caught my eye. Treacy was one of the better defenders I saw Sunday. She has tremendous upside as either a pure defender or a defensive midfielder.
