Emma Giannetti Emma Giannetti 5'7" | Midfield/Defense Rye | 2028 NY is an outstanding defender and a complete two-way midfielder who influences every area of the field. Her physicality, disciplined footwork, and constant communication make her difficult to beat 1v1. She keeps her stick active, handles switches effectively, and recognizes when to provide a strong slide. Giannetti also competes relentlessly for ground balls and loose possessions around the draw circle.

Her ability to immediately turn a defensive stop into offense is one of her greatest strengths. She protects her stick through pressure, carries confidently in transition, and keeps her eyes upfield to find the next pass. Giannetti is equally capable on the offensive end, where she moves with purpose and creates opportunities for her teammates. She can finish through contact and possesses both power and accuracy, including a dangerous sidearm release. Although her defensive presence stands out first, her versatility gives her the potential to make an impact anywhere through the midfield at the college level.

Giannetti is a true two-way midfielder whose defensive presence immediately stands out. She plays physical, keeps her stick up, communicates through switches, and has the footwork and awareness to make strong slides. Her ground ball ability, hustle on the draw circle, and effectiveness in transition make her someone who could thrive as a defensive midfielder at the college level. Once she creates a stop, she does an excellent job turning defense into offense. Giannetti protects her stick, gets her eyes upfield, and looks for teammates rather than slowing down the momentum of the clear.

What makes her especially valuable is that she is far from a defensive-only player. Giannetti understands offensive movement, helps set up her teammates, and has both power and accuracy on her shot. She can shoot through pressure and has a dangerous sidearm release when given space. Her defensive ability may be her biggest standout trait, but her complete skill set makes her an impact player all over the field.
