Excellent in transition — defenders constantly try to keep up with her, but all eventually end up with their backs to her as she blows by. She runs the offense well and has a shifty hesitation move she loves to pull out at the top of the arc. Quick feet and an explosive first step, she gets downhill and puts pressure on defenses north-south. She has a good base and absorbs contact exceptionally well. Comfortable charging the cage on free-position attempts or taking a step in and ripping one into a corner.

Her off-ball movement is equally impressive — constantly moving without clogging up any one part of the field, she commands space around the eight-meter mark without the ball in her stick.

Her impact does not stop on offense. Black is an asset on the defensive end as well. At 5’5″ and still growing, she is lengthy and uses it to her advantage. She’s an extremely physical defender who will pick up 1v1 at the midfield stripe. She hunts down ground balls well and is not scared of any contact that may come as a result.
