Clarkson brings tremendous versatility to the field, but her ability to create defensive opportunities from the midfield is what makes her especially exciting. She is relentless when pursuing the ball, frequently tracking down opponents in transition and turning defensive pressure into caused turnovers. Her effort is noticeable on nearly every possession, and she has a knack for disrupting plays before an offense can fully develop.

What makes Clarkson such an intriguing prospect is how quickly she can turn a defensive stop into an offensive opportunity. She is capable of winning possession, pushing the ball upfield, and finishing in a variety of ways. She also contributes on the draw and does an excellent job anticipating passing lanes, making it difficult for opponents to find clean looks. Clarkson has the tools to become an impactful college midfielder who contributes on both ends of the field, with her defensive intensity setting her apart.
