Top Threat Championship: Day 2 Standouts

The Top Threat Championship, hosted by Top Threat Tournaments, took place July 10-12 in New Jersey. Top clubs from the classes of 2027-2032 competed for a chance to win a championship.   I stopped by for an early matchup between Freestyle and Sound at 10:30 a.m. ET on July 11, then returned for the afternoon slate beginning at 2:15 p.m. ET.   Here are the standouts:    Wallace is an attacker out of Georgia who should be highly recruited. Moves really well off-ball. Her cuts are timed perfectly, and she capitalized in the inside twice against Sound Lacrosse. Coming in off the circle, she makes great reads. The Freestyle product has a question mark dodge in her bag that she can pull out when needed.     Manger's deception is unreal. She can act like she is passing the ball and then take it to the rack. Her vision is elite, and she finds open cutters. Defenders have a hard time playing her 1v1 straight up because she is explosive, has super quick feet, and blows by defenders. A really special player that is going to have success on the big stage.     Boardman is a smooth operator. She wants the ball in her stick. The Georgia native is a natural QB on offense. Her inside roll is lethal. Boardman's vision is top-notch. When she facilitates from “X,” her true game emerges. The way the attacker can break down the defense makes her elite.     Beaumont stands at 5'11” and plays for M&D Red. She can self-draw and is very good. The lefty likes to pop the ball high and go up and grab it. Beaumont can turn the corner and fire off a shot. She can pull out a left-to-right split dodge and get down the alley.     The Minnesota goalie is a lefty who plays for Lacrosse Monkey. She made phenomenal saves against Maxim. Ackley read shots really well. She made saves with her helmet and feet. Ackley made cross-body saves and low saves. A goalie to watch the rest of the summer in the Class of 2028.     Teter played very well for Team 91 Carolina. In one of her games, she had a nice slip to the goal in transition. Her next goal was a perfectly executed cut inside that she quickly caught and put in the back of the net. Her third goal was off another cut inside. Three straight goals for Morgan Teter against Philly Blast Bold. An overall great performance.     Ashcroft had two goals very early on in her game against Nor'easter Power. Her first goal was inside. The second goal, she drove up from “X,” got to GLE, and scored with barely any angle. The attacker from Lancaster Country Day School (Pa.) is a good, solid righty dodger.     Walsh is a shifty attacker from Connecticut. The lefty finishes the ball well. She has nice cuts inside that allowed her to get one on the board. Off the 8-meter, she can put the ball in the back of the net.     Ohler is a tough dodger who can get downhill. On defense, she anticipates and can get out and defend. She can also get out early and deflect passes.
