About Abby

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love the game of lacrosse and play with passion. I pride myself on being a team player with high game IQ. I am a threat as a driver, but also work really hard off ball and am lucky to play with amazing teammates who can find me on my cuts to score goals.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love to compete. I love the challenge of playing in really competitive games and will never get outworked on or off the field. I have made so many friends through this sport - it's a really small world and we all know each other. I love being around people who have the same mentality as me and we all push each other to get better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Principal’s List (top 5%), High Honor Roll, Nyack High School Class Treasurer, National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Public Relations Officer of Engineering and Architecture Club, Secretary of Project Warmth Club, Member of Students Opposing Starvation, Member of SiSTEM club

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I lead by example and try to always be encouraging and positive with my teammates. Each team I am on is like a family! I am also a leader in the classroom as I am in the top 5% of my class. One of my biggest passions outside of sports is volunteering at Nyack Soup Angels.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The biggest challenge that I faced in my life is what molded me into the person I am today. I couldn't read and struggled in school. I was diagnosed with dyslexia, and with the help of an incredible teacher and a lot of hard work, I learned that my brain worked differently than most. I have overcome many obstacles to become a strong student. My intense work ethic in school and lax comes from this.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to compete at the highest level. I want to be challenged and pushed and create relationships with teammates and coaches that will last forever.
