The Committed Games featured some of the top committed defenders in the country, and every game was packed with high-level defensive play. These athletes weren't just shutting down matchups... they were changing possessions, creating transition opportunities, and proving why some of the nation's best Division I programs wanted them. Whether it was lockdown 1v1 defense, relentless hustle, or game-changing caused turnovers, these players consistently stood out every time they stepped on the field.    Ellie Bottiglier was one of the most difficult defenders to get past all weekend. With her tall, long strides and outstanding reach, she always seemed to come away with the ball, whether it was through a perfectly timed check, an interception, a back check, or another ground ball. Her physical style of defense, combined with excellent stick work, forced attackers to move the ball almost immediately.   As a left-handed defender, Bottiglier presents a unique challenge that many attackers aren't used to seeing. Her slides were consistently on time, her head was always on a swivel, and she covered an incredible amount of ground with her length and athleticism. She also made an impact in the midfield by helping on the draw and creating transition opportunities. A true ground ball machine and defensive force, Bottiglier made her presence felt every time she stepped onto the field.     Regan O'Connor is also known for filling up the stat sheet offensively, but it was her defense that completely stole the show at the Committed Games. A 2026 USA Lacrosse All-American, O'Connor proved she can dominate on both ends of the field. No matter where she lined up defensively, she found a way to shut down some of the nation's top talent with outstanding footwork, anticipation, and relentless effort.   She's constantly involved in transition, using her speed to carry the ball from the defensive end into the offensive zone before setting up teammates or finishing give-and-go opportunities herself. O'Connor is a caused turnover machine who also comes away with countless interceptions thanks to her lacrosse IQ and active stick. While she has the offensive ability to take over a game, her lockdown defense is what truly separated her throughout the weekend and makes her a top recruit.     Riley Davis showed why she's already considered one of the premier midfielders in the country. Davis played with the confidence and composure of an upperclassman all weekend. Her 1v1 defense was outstanding, constantly forcing attackers into difficult situations before stripping the ball away or forcing turnovers with perfectly timed checks.   While her defensive play stole the spotlight, Davis is far from one-dimensional. She's a dangerous offensive threat who attacks with confidence, using quick split dodges to create space before ripping accurate shots or drawing double teams and finding open teammates through the 8-meter. She's also a major contributor on the draw and excels in many ways for her team. Her athleticism, stick skills, and complete game made her stick out as one of the most impactful midfielders in the committed class. She's aggressive in 1v1 defense, embraces physical play, and consistently comes away with possessions that most players wouldn't.   Pittler has a knack for winning ground balls and turning them into instant transition opportunities. Whether it was scooping up 50/50 balls, intercepting passes, or battling through traffic, she repeatedly gave her team extra possessions. She's also capable of making an impact on the draw and is trusted to push the pace once the ball is in her stick. Her hustle, toughness, and ability to flip momentum make her an incredibly valuable defender.     Ryan Sontag brought relentless speed and energy every time she stepped onto the field. Her quick feet and defensive agility allowed her to stay attached to attackers while making it nearly impossible for anyone to beat her 1v1.   What stood out most was her ability to explode in transition. Time after time, Sontag would sprint the length of the field like a lightning bolt, turning defensive stops into offensive opportunities for her team before anyone could catch her. She never seemed to slow down, playing with nonstop hustle from the opening whistle until the final horn. Her speed, effort, and willingness to do whatever her team needed made her one of the biggest difference-makers at the Committed Games.
