Lacrosse Masters: Day 1 Standouts

Lacrosse Masters, hosted by Tim McDonnell, kicked off its girls lacrosse camp series on June 9 in Farmington, Connecticut, with the 6th Annual Girls High Academic Division I Summer Recruiting Prospect Camp. Representing some of the nation's most selective universities, coaches from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Harvard, Michigan, Notre Dame, Princeton, Stanford, Penn, Vanderbilt, and Yale were in attendance. Every school represented has an acceptance rate below 20%, with most admitting fewer than 10% of applicants each year.    Kang is extremely fast. She is a quick and twitchy dodger who can smoke her defender 1v1. The attacker from Colorado can turn the corner quickly and unleash shots. In one of her games, she showcased a really impressive on-the-run shot that came out like an absolute missile. Kang has great control when she catches the ball. She made an impressive catch on the crease that led to a goal. Her vision is good, too, and she will find her open teammates.     Hamilton is very good when she takes the draw. She loves to self-draw, and she goes up and grabs it with one hand. The midfielder is from Long Island, N.Y., but attends high school at St. Paul's School in New Hampshire. She is a three-sport athlete: Cross Country, Alpine Skiing, and Lacrosse. When she gets the ball in her stick off the draw, she can push it in transition. Hamilton can get downhill on her dodges. She had a nice left-to-right split dodge, got downhill, and scored on the run in one of her games.     Audlin attends The Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore, Maryland, which is an all-girls school. The goalie made very impressive saves on Day 1 of the Lacrosse Masters. She makes great cross-body, opposite-stick side saves. Audlin was saving shots from all over. She had an impressive save with her feet. The FCA product can drop low quickly, making tough saves look easy.     The Lake Highland Prep (Fla.) product put on a show at Lacrosse Masters. On one offensive possession, she split through multiple defenders and got to the cage. She is a quick and fast dodger who is very hard to defend. Her quick first step is dangerous. Her hitch-and-go is very fun to watch. She showcased her impressive on-the-run shot at the event. This is a player college coaches need to have on their radars.     The freshman midfielder out of Dover, Massachusetts, attends Deerfield Academy (Mass.) and plays club ball for Mass Elite. She played lockdown 1v1 defense and really stood out. On offense, she is a bouncy dodger and gets past her defenders. She is a good feeder, and she takes the draw.     Pratt is a lefty attacker who attends high school at The Agnes Irwin School (Pa.). She led her team this season in assists with 28. This makes sense because she stood out at Lacrosse Masters with her vision and ability to distribute the ball. She has good stick skills and can find any of her open teammates. Pratt can turn the corner easily and get topside. Her shot placement is high-level.     Croom has a high IQ. When she was off on the sidelines, she was constantly breaking down the game to her teammates, trying to put them in the right spots. She is a hard dodger and can get to the goal. Croom helps in the clear and can run the floor and make plays. Her vision is good. She read the defense and made high-level passes to cutters.     The Mass Elite attacker had a really impressive take to the goal on Day 1. She started back at “X” and came up towards GLE and scored with no angle. Santucci can rip the ball and has a great righty overhand shot. She had some good feeds to her teammates, too.
