Ranked No. 34 nationally in the Class of 2028 by Prep Girls Lacrosse, McElheny is a small but mighty goalie whose athleticism allows her to play much bigger than her size. She is reliable, confident, and extremely composed when left alone against a shooter. Her positioning always seems to place her exactly where she needs to be, and her smooth movements can make incredibly difficult saves appear natural.

She gets low quickly, excels on her off-stick side, and puts her body on the line without hesitation. McElheny is equally capable of stopping outside shots and handling attempts from directly in front of the cage. She tracks cutters extremely well and remains patient when attackers arrive with speed, throw fakes, and attempt to finish in tight. Her fast, accurate clears are another major strength, making her a dependable presence all around.

In a battle between some of the best goalies in the Class of 2028, Susie McElheny went up against Ella Bacallao’s Prime Time team. Prime Time got the best of Eagle Stix 9-5, but McElheny proved why she is one of the best goalies in her class. McElheny makes opposite stick side low saves look easy. She drops low extremely quickly, and her athleticism shined. McElheny is also extremely comfortable on free position shots; they don’t faze her. On one possession, she was 1v1 with a shooter, and she made an incredible save on the doorstep. She is always in a great position. I wrote in my notes, “this is why she is one of the top goalies in this class.”

McElheny makes the most difficult saves look natural. She lays out for shots and makes the most impressive saves. The Georgia native tracks shooters very well. Extremely comfortable in net, McElheny shows why she is one of the top goalies in the Class of 2028. She is athletic and drops low extremely quickly to make saves. McElheny can save it from range or right in close. She has great potential for the college level.
