About Samantha
Expert Analysis
Taylor Fiorini | Prep Girls Lacrosse Scout
Gittens does more than react to an attacker. She makes the attacker adjust to her. The Lehigh commit applies tight pressure, takes away comfortable routes, and uses her positioning to force opponents farther from the cage. Her footwork allows her to stay close without surrendering control of the matchup, making it difficult for an attacker to establish a rhythm.
She also understands how to use her stick to influence a play. Even when an opponent gains a slight step, Gittens works to redirect her path and prevent a clean shooting opportunity. That awareness carries into the clear, where she protects possession, surveys the field, and uses her speed to move the ball forward. Her ability to dictate space is what makes her especially frustrating to face.
