Expert Analysis
Justin Staggers | Prep Girls Lacrosse Scout
Yorktown has produced a steady pipeline of high-level attackers in recent seasons, but this year, its standout may be a defender in Peyton Regan. A high-IQ defender who plays with plenty of physicality, Regan flies around the field, recognizing when to step up and provide help while keeping the defense organized. She is particularly effective in the two-woman game, where she can blow up a screen before the offense has a chance to capitalize. Regan actively seeks contact, and it’s fun to watch attackers try to take topside on her, only to be forced uncomfortably wide and away from the action. She has a knack for making life difficult for opposing attackers and disrupting offensive sets before they develop. She is another name who will be off the board early next September. Coaches are going to love her physicality and willingness to do the dirty work defensively.
