Being the only freshman to earn a spot and start on a varsity team competing at a state championship level says plenty about Koistinen’s ability to contribute early. She brings confident dodging and strong stick protection, creating room to unload powerful shots from distance with a quick release. Koistinen can put real pace behind her shot, but she also recognizes when to dish the ball to an open teammate instead of forcing her own opportunity. Her impact extends beyond settled offense through her effort on the ride, hustle on the draw circle, and ability to help carry possession safely upfield. With experience contributing in a demanding program and the versatility to help in several areas, Koistinen deserves more recognition.
