Cal is adding a versatile midfielder whose reach, composure, and ability to create possessions stood out this summer. Wismer uses her six-foot frame effectively on the draw, including securing self-draws, and gives teammates a dependable target around the cage. Her catching range allows her to bring in imperfect passes, while her well timed cuts put her in position to finish.

Even with defenders collapsing around her inside the eight, Wismer stays patient and uses convincing fakes and accurate placement to find the net. She also sees opportunities to feed teammates and uses her positioning well defensively. Her ability to contribute across the field gives Cal an addition with plenty of ways to influence a game.

Another prospect from a non-traditional hotbed with high upside, Henley Wismer is a tall, versatile player whose primary position is still to be defined. She got run this summer as both a draw-taking two-way midfielder and a high attacker. In the draw, she uses her height to win it over the top. In settled play, she stands out as a slippery off-ball player with exceptional finishing ability. She is a player who must be marked up and accounted for at all times, crafty with her shots off the feed and capable of changing the angle and freeing her hands in a hurry. One of her best skill sets is on the change of possession. Wismer is a ball hawk on the ride, making clearing a four-quarter nightmare for opposing goalies. Stick her on the goalie and watch her go to work, and she will even pick off interceptions from goalies who try to launch a long clear over the top.
