Grace Chornoma is a name we all need to remember. She just wrapped up a successful 8th-grade campaign on varsity for Westhampton Beach (N.Y.).  The current freshman in high school plays like she is older. She has a box background and plays in the Hawks Box Lacrosse program in Long Island (N.Y.). Chornoma explodes through ground balls, makes perfectly timed checks, gets her stick in passing lanes, and plays good 1v1 defense. One thing that stands out about her game is her ability to be automatic in the clear. Her ability to clear the ball and absorb contact from multiple players is impressive. Sometimes, being that young on varsity, there is a big learning curve, possible nerves, and pressure to perform. Players are bigger, faster, and stronger. For Chornoma, players were 4 years older this past Spring. She performs at a high level.
