Expert Analysis
CeCe Webb | Prep Girls Lacrosse Scout
Giana is one of those players who just makes things happen. The 2027 UNC commit from Denver, Colorado, is constantly making an impact. Bigelow is the type of player whose dominant hand you don’t know. Her shiftiness and quickness help her slip by defenders. She can finish with either hand, in front of the crease, at the 8, or even throw a twizzler against top defenders. She uses deception to get away from defenders on a slip cut and keeps her cool as the entire defense crashes in on her, finishing the ball with poise. What sets Bigelow apart is her ability to stay composed in chaos, never rushing under heavy pressure. She draws slides naturally, forcing defenses to collapse and opening up opportunities across the offense. Whether she’s creating for herself or facilitating for others, she plays with a level of control that is rare for her class. As Colorado continues to emerge on the national stage, Bigelow stands out as a player who is not just benefiting from that growth but actively driving it.

Ranked No. 4 in the class of 2027, this attacker comes from a rising hotbed for lacrosse: Colorado. Bigelow is often found up top or on the wing, making her a multidimensional character. Not only is Bigelow a dynamic dodger, but she can get a shot off from any spot on the field. This will make her a lethal addition to the UNC squad in the coming years. She has the ability to read a defense and react, a skill often lacking even at the collegiate level. Another valuable asset to Bigelow’s game is her creativity. She keeps the defense on their toes with her seemingly endless arsenal of dodges, shots, and placements.

Bigelow is extremely quick and fast. She weaves through defenders when dodging and gets right to the goal. The Colorado native can dodge from anywhere on the field and blow by her 1v1 matchup. She could be an offensive midfielder at the next level because she gets downhill so quickly and likes to initiate her dodges from up top. When she is down low, she turns the corner and gets topside. Bigelow is tough and fights through contact when she wants a goal. She also has a lot of success coming in off the circle and reading the ball in the air.
