About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I enjoy the teamwork lacrosse demands (smart feeds, strong screens, moving the ball, unselfish play) and its individual challenges (taking the draw, battling for ground balls, one-on-one defense, confidently driving to the net).

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Mental toughness and work ethic are core to who I am. I train year-round to improve my skills, speed, agility, and strength.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Off the field, I enjoy playing guitar, crocheting, baking, and juggling. I participated in UPenn's Social Innovators Program and received a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship. I represented my school at the National High School Sports Analytics Summit and am a staff writer for my school newspaper.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I also play basketball (point guard) and soccer (goalkeeper), which has helped me grow as an athlete, teammate, and leader. Basketball has been especially helpful in improving my lacrosse IQ, seeing the field well, understanding off-ball movement, spacing, defensive positioning, and communication. I will be the captain for our basketball team next year.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

With the help of my school’s trainers and a lot of PT and exercises, I have bounced back from an ankle injury last summer and a concussion in the fall.
