About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a very vocal player, I tell my defense and middies exactly what's happening and when. When the field is quiet you can really hear me but I also encourage and keep the moral up as much as I possibly can no matter whether a goal was scored on me or we scored a goal, I give the game my full effort till the last whistle. ui

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a outgoing person. I definitely put myself out there and try new things even if those things aren't exactly in my comfort zone. I'm definitely the type of person who pushes through even when times get tough, I try my hardest to put my best effort into everything I do whether its on or off the lacrosse field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in the ROTC program at Pinkerton Academy. Which does a lot for the school itself and the community surrounding the school, doesn't matter if its parades or food drives or clothes drives but we make it happen

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Communication on and off the field, I learned that in order for things to happen effectively I have to communicate what I'm thinking and or any ideas I have that can make things run more smoothly

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One Significant challenge I have faced was when I started playing goalie, it was the fact that I wasn't very confident in myself and how I was able to play. But with the help of coaches, teammates, parents and my family, I am where I am today

What type of college are you looking for?

A school that has a good nursing program while they also still have a good lacrosse program.

Emily Minahan, out of Chester, New Hampshire, and representing Granite Club Lacrosse, had a strong day between the pipes on Sunday. She does a nice job angling her body to the “X” attacker working behind the crease, regularly coming up with stuffs at GLE as a result. But what stood out most was how she handled herself after making saves. Minahan is as composed as they come, staying calm on the clear despite facing a relentless ride. She understands timing well, using her body to shield the ball from the riding attacker while keeping her stick protected, buying herself just enough time to clear safely.
