Clara Aschenbach is the type of player defenders don’t look forward to matching up against. She’s fast, aggressive, and attacks with confidence, combining hard dodges with a powerful, hard-to-defend shot. She consistently uses her footwork to throw defenders off balance, identifies their weak spots, and attacks them. Even under pressure, Aschenbach is a reliable catch-and-finish threat, and her hard, wide-angle shot makes her dangerous from different spots on the field. What makes her stand out even more is the effort she brings defensively. On the ride and in settled defense, she’s gritty, gets her stick in passing lanes, uses her body to apply pressure, and anticipates passes to come away with interceptions. She’s constantly working to get the ball back, making her a threat on both ends of the field.

Clara Aschenbach out of Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart (Md.) and Hero’s proved why she should have the ball. In the 5v5s, she split through the defense and got downhill. Multiple times she had good takes to the goal. Aschenbach wanted the ball in her stick and wanted to take over the game.
