About Callista

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a lefty midfielder that excels all over the field. I cause a lot of chaos between the 30s. I play with a ton of energy & I’m super competitive. I like taking the draw or being on the circle so I can win possession for my team. I pride myself on being a team player. My best assets are my speed, athleticism, 1v1 defense/anticipation, my IQ & creative skillset on attack.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am laid back which allows me to remain composed & in control under pressure situations. I am highly ambitious and have a strong desire to compete & win at anything that I do but I also adapt quickly & am resilient in the face of adversity. You will always see me with a smile & laughing with friends. I love how the world of lacrosse has introduced me to the best people!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

- 11th Grade Student Athlete Representative - Model UN Ambassador - FOCUS Club Member - One Love Club Member

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My kindness, focus, drive, mental toughness & ability to relate to others are what have lead me to be a team captain as a junior. I don't take being a leader lightly and I understand the responsibility that goes along with it. We will only ever be as great as we can be with buy in, cohesion, trust & the willingness to work hard together. I am dependable & my teammates know they can count on me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This fall, I was severely injured on the soccer field with a big laceration to my face. It meant that I wouldn't be able to compete in the USA Brogden Cup but I shifted my focus from being upset to fortunate I would play again in the future. I needed to be the best teammate that I could be on the sidelines cheering for the USA and soak up every single memory with my friends & teammates.
