Playing up with the 2027s this weekend, Athena Arguello had an impressive showing on both ends of the field. From Brooklyn, Arguello plays with a New York toughness — she does not shy away from contact or an all-out battle for a ground ball. She did just that in one of her games, using an active stick and smart body positioning on the ride to poke the ball free before taking it back for the unassisted goal. Arguello works primarily from the “X” in the offensive set and is a strong feeder from behind GLE, consistently hitting cutters in stride from all areas of the field.
