Long, rangy defender with legit two-way play. Banyai is an elite on-ball defender who thrives in true 1v1 matchups. She anticipates slides and skips lanes before they develop, consistently getting her stick in the passing lanes and disrupting feeds at the release point. Her check selection is disciplined; she doesn’t throw reckless sticks, she times her lift and poke when the attacker exposes. Patient defender whose footwork forces attackers down the alley.
She’s a true dual threat, running defense on the club circuit and playing attack at the high school level, which sharpens her offensive IQ and spacing awareness. She communicates clearly, presents as an outlet, and isn’t afraid to help organize the breakout. Tore her ACL in January 2025 and is targeting a junior-year return; the comeback storyline is real.
