Maryland is getting a midfielder who can win the ball and make something happen with it. Offutt caught my eye this summer with her relentless pursuit of possessions, especially around the draw circle. Her speed and anticipation put her in position to collect loose balls, while her awareness of passing lanes allows her to disrupt opponents and come away with interceptions. The Kent Island midfielder and USA Lacrosse All-American pairs that hustle with confident ball-handling and the ability to use either hand effectively.

Offutt is just as dangerous when working without the ball. She times her cuts well, presents a reliable target, and finishes around the cage. She also brings a powerful eight-meter shot and a jump shot that gives goalies another release to contend with. Her composure ties everything together, allowing her to recognize openings and attack with purpose. With her ability to generate extra possessions and contribute offensively, Offutt brings plenty for Maryland to be excited about.
