Oviedo (Fla.): Loaded With Talent 27s-29s

Although Oviedo High School fell short in the 2026 FHSAA Class 2A Girls Lacrosse State Championship, the Lions proved exactly why they belonged on the biggest stage. Even in defeat, this group made it clear that the future of Oviedo girls' lacrosse is bright.    Savanna Fryzle was one of the most impressive players on the field all game long. The 2028 midfielder is an unbelievable dodger who constantly creates problems for defenders. She was a matchup nightmare every time she touched the ball. Whenever the ball was in her stick, it felt like something dangerous was about to happen. Fryzle plays with a significant will to score and competes with confidence beyond her years. Her athleticism shows up all over the field, not just offensively, as she plays fast, aggressively, and physically in every area of the game. Her lacrosse IQ was also impossible to ignore, helping her stand out as one of the top young players in Florida. College coaches should absolutely keep their eyes on her this summer     [player_tooltip player_id='72588' first='Riley' last='Hoffman'], Committed to George Washington University, stepped up in a huge way during the state championship and helped keep Oviedo in the game from the start. The left-handed goalie made several incredible saves early, immediately setting the tone with her composure in net. Hoffman was stopping shots that looked nearly impossible at times, proving why she is one of the top goalkeepers in the state. Beyond her saves, she excelled in the clear by quickly getting the ball out and helping Oviedo maintain momentum. She handles pressure extremely well and consistently finds her open teammates with poise and control. Simply put, Hoffman was a brick wall for Oviedo on the biggest stage.     Sophomore midfielder [player_tooltip player_id='72591' first='Presley' last='Krantz'] delivered a standout performance in the championship game with her poised finishes and elite off-ball movement. Her timing on cuts consistently put her in scoring positions, and she showed great composure finishing in tight spaces. Krantz plays with a dodging mentality and attacks defenses aggressively with quick footwork and confidence. As a two-way midfielder, she also made an impact defensively by causing turnovers, strong 1v1 defense, and in transition on the clear. What makes her even more impressive is the leadership she already brings as a captain for Oviedo, which translates on the field.     Freshman attacker [player_tooltip player_id='72593' first='Cate' last='Steinebronn'] continues to establish herself as one of the top young playmakers in Florida. Playing primarily at X, Steinebronn showcased elite vision and feeding ability throughout the championship game. Several of her passes created high-quality scoring chances, and even when the finish was not there, her ability to generate opportunities did not go unnoticed. Steinebronn currently sits among Florida's assist leaders with over 50 assists as just a freshman, including ranking third in the state in assists, an incredible accomplishment for a 2029 player. Her speed, IQ, and passion for setting teammates up make her one of the most exciting young attackers to watch.     [player_tooltip player_id='72595' first='Addison' last='Steinebronn'] showed offensive awareness during the championship game with her perfectly timed cuts and strong finishing ability. She reads goalies well and consistently finds ways to finish around them under pressure. Beyond scoring, Steinebronn also displayed unselfishness by moving the ball effectively and creating opportunities for teammates. Her awareness separates her from many attackers, as she is consistently around rebounds, interceptions, and second-chance opportunities. The uncommitted 2027 attacker proved she can make an impact in big moments.     [player_tooltip player_id='72597' first='Mia' last='Palumbo'] made an impact defensively throughout the championship game. The uncommitted 2027 defender stood out immediately with her speed and ability to transition the ball up the field. The moment she secured possession, she exploded into open space and created momentum for Oviedo between the 30s. Palumbo helped slow down some of the opposing team's biggest offensive threats while also proving herself as a reliable transition player. Defenders often do not receive the recognition they deserve, but Palumbo made her presence known in this game.
