UMass Lowell is adding a defender whose communication and awareness help bring structure to the defensive unit. Ehmann caught my eye with her ability to read developing plays, direct teammates, and put herself in position to disrupt the offense. She combines sound positioning in 1v1 matchups with steady pressure, keeping her stick active to challenge passing lanes.

Her impact continues once possession changes. Ehmann uses her speed and reliable ball movement to help start the clear and get her team upfield. With strong fundamentals, a vocal presence, and the ability to contribute in transition, she brings qualities that will serve her well at UMass Lowell.

One of the best defenders this weekend, Kamille Ehmann displayed a brand of physical defense that her matchups had trouble beating. You will not see many defenders better at keeping the stick horizontal and driving players away from the eight-meter arc. It is the kind of defense that drives opposing attackers and coaches crazy. She understands body and stick positioning well enough to keep it clean while working players out of the offensive set entirely. During long offensive sets, her stick is always active, and she comes up with a handful of knockdown-caused turnovers — taking the ball the other way with the speed and IQ to be an offensive starter in transition.

Kamille Ehmann Kamille Ehmann 5'5" | Defense/Midfield | Right Hand Hilton | 2028 NY is a multifaceted defender. She comes in clutch on the draw circle consistently. Her 1v1 defense is exceptional due to her knowledge and understanding of how to position her body effectively when being driven at. Ehmann’s off-ball defense is where she shines. She plays big and is proactive in her communication. You can hear her trigger hedges and slides for her entire team, almost like their quarterback. She bumps cutters with her head on a swivel effectively so she can react to any situation. She is a player who turns heads and will draw a lot of attention in Upstate NY this spring season.
