About Madison

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Versatile - I take great pride in being a complete player. I have a hard outside shot, can finish inside, dodge, feed, ride, and have a high lacrosse IQ. I am a very dependable player that my coaches and teammates can count on to run an offense and recognize critical game situations. I like to use my 5'9 frame for leverage to get my shot off and am a true two-handed player.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I strive to compete against the best anytime I can and love training to perform at my best. I am constantly looking to improve my game whether that means extra wall ball, shooting reps, strength and conditioning, or watching game film of college or pro players. I love being a "lax rat" and adding to my game.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the National Charity League and love volunteering, particularly for causes related to animal protection, illness prevention/cures, or that highlight inspirational women.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I take great pride in my work ethic. I was nowhere near the player I wanted to be when I first started playing club lacrosse but I put in a lot of effort to improving both my skills and my athleticism and that has tremendously helped my confidence. I have been told my teammates admire my work ethic and commitment to improving and I believe I have developed into a strong and inclusive leader.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My freshman year, I moved to a competitive private school and joined the field hockey team in the fall. I had never played field hockey but I loved the training and competition and making new friends with new teammates. About a month into the fall season, a shot ricocheted into my face and broke 3 bones. I had surgery and missed some time in school and the remainder of the FH season.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college that will challenge me academically and allow me to play lacrosse at a high level. I have a lot of interests academically and want to contribute to a great and competitive culture in athletics. I want the opportunity to be a true student athlete and make a positive impact to a lacrosse program.
