Irish is an explosive, quick, and fast lefty attacker who can blow by her defender. She has a lethal, quick first step that allows her to turn the corner and get topside on her matchup. When she gets doubled, she will split right through it and get to the goal. She can shoot and finish with both hands. Irish makes nice feeds; her vision is good. She moves like a basketball player. High-level basketball players like to get to their spots and then attack their defender. Irish does the same thing. She knows exactly where she wants to set up her defender, and then she will explode right past them. A really great player, coaches need to look out for this summer.

It took Maeve Irish Maeve Irish 5'3" | Midfield/Attack | Left Hand Episcopal Academy | 2028 PA just one possession to make her presence felt on Friday night. Less than a minute of play.

She caught the ball up top and posted up on the crease, where she is incredibly dangerous. Comfortable attacking either shoulder, Irish spun back left, beat her defender, and rifled a shot into the left corner for the game’s first goal.

Irish is shifty and jittery on her feet, and her deep dodge repertoire, combined with her ability to draw the slide, has made her increasingly difficult to defend. She is consistently the most dangerous player on the field.

Despite the loss, Irish turned in an impressive three-goal performance on Friday night. A near lock to play at the Division I level, she certainly did not hurt her cause in front of the coaches and scouts in attendance.

Irish is a dangerous lefty with elite footwork, capable of coming to a complete stop and attacking either side to beat her defender. Whether she is up top, on the wing, or behind the cage, she is comfortable with the ball on her stick and uses all areas of the field effectively.

In one instance this winter, Irish found herself caught between two defenders looking to trap her along the sideline and force a turnover. Instead, calm under pressure, Irish faked the reset pass up top before exploding right, splitting both defenders as she found space for an easy goal.

Her ability to create space is as good as, if not better than, anyone in her class, and she possesses a wide range of moves that allow her to get by even the best defenders.

In another game this winter, Irish took the ball up top and went to work, using a series of hesitation moves, faking left, cutting right, back left, before ultimately attacking right and leaving her defender on the turf as she went by for the easy finish.

Like most players on this list, Irish is not yet able to formally commit. But her name is certainly on the watchlist of programs near and far.
