Sunshine State Scorers: Florida's Uncommitted 2028 Talent

Florida's Class of 2028 continues to showcase impressive offensive talent, with several athletes still searching for their future collegiate homes. These five uncommitted standouts bring a combination of scoring ability, versatility, athleticism, and playmaking skills that could make an immediate impact at the next level. O'Connell is a poised and shifty midfielder who has the ability to create scoring opportunities in several different ways. She is extremely quick on her feet and can execute a spin dodge in an instant, making her difficult to contain in 1v1 situations. O'Connell is particularly effective when attacking from low at "X," where she can challenge defenders, work comfortably behind the cage, and either finish herself or find an open teammate. Her vision and ability to deliver quick, accurate passes make her a dangerous offensive threat. Inside the 8-meter, she gets the ball out of her stick quickly and places her shots with impressive accuracy. She also contributes on draw controls and has the ability to force turnovers. O'Connell had a strong showing throughout the summer and has the athleticism, field awareness, and offensive versatility to become a valuable addition to a collegiate program. Quigley is a dynamic low attacker who knows how to capitalize on offensive opportunities. She has an impressive shot from distance and can consistently find the top corners of the cage with power and accuracy. What makes Quigley especially dangerous is her ability to recognize scoring opportunities quickly. When she receives the ball inside the 8-meter, she wastes little time getting a shot off, often using a quick fake to create an opening before finishing. She is comfortable working with both hands and moves confidently with the ball in her stick. Quigley also demonstrates excellent offensive timing, making smart cuts when defenders lose track of her. Despite her scoring ability, she remains an unselfish attacker who keeps her head up and looks to create opportunities for her teammates. She works well in give-and-go situations and 2-man games, understands when to attack versus distribute, and applies strong pressure on the ride. Her versatility and offensive intelligence make her a well-rounded attacker with plenty to offer at the next level. Aballi is a relentless midfielder who consistently makes her presence felt on both ends of the field. Her hustle and athleticism stand out, as she is always looking for ways to contribute offensively and defensively. She is quick, poised, and extremely comfortable working with both hands, allowing her to finish confidently from different angles. Aballi has excellent off-ball movement and knows how to time her cuts to create quality scoring opportunities. She is also a strong facilitator who can find open teammates and deliver accurate feeds. Defensively, she applies consistent pressure on the ride and puts in the effort to disrupt opposing possessions. Her stick protection and decision-making also allow her to clear the ball safely and transition into the offensive end. Aballi brings a complete skill set, impressive work ethic, and the versatility to impact nearly every aspect of the game. It is surprising that an athlete with her abilities is still available in the Class of 2028. Saeger is a strong, athletic player who brings a physical presence and tremendous versatility to the field. Her height and strength make her a valuable offensive asset, particularly when finishing in tight spaces or converting opportunities from difficult angles around the cage. She is also extremely effective on the draw circle, where her athleticism and ability to execute a strong self-draw help create additional possessions for her team. Defensively, Saeger consistently gets her stick into passing lanes and creates turnovers, making her a threat beyond the offensive end. She plays with aggression and determination while maintaining a team-first mentality. Her ability to contribute on the draw, create defensive stops, and finish offensively gives her plenty of upside. Saeger has significant potential to continue developing and could become a strong contributor to a collegiate program. Gaffney is an energetic offensive player who excels at putting herself in the right position to capitalize on scoring opportunities. She has a strong understanding of positioning around the cage and is particularly effective on quick catch-and-finish opportunities. Gaffney can receive a feed from a teammate and redirect the ball into the back of the net with very little hesitation, making her a reliable option in tight offensive situations. Her quick first step also allows her to create separation and react efficiently when opportunities develop. Beyond her offensive contributions, Gaffney puts tremendous effort into the ride and is willing to work defensively throughout the midfield. Her hustle and determination are evident in the way she approaches every possession.
