Although their journey came up just short, the talent on this roster was impossible to ignore. From experienced leaders to dynamic two-way midfielders who impact every aspect of the game, Springfield is loaded with players capable of changing the outcome of a contest. Here are some of the key athletes who powered Springfield's successful season and made their presence felt across the field.    The conference MVP has been one of Springfield's biggest difference-makers, and she continues to prove why she is one of the top young players to watch. Lemieux has outstanding ball control, plays confidently with both hands, and brings a physical presence on both ends of the field. She is dangerous from “X,” where she uses her strength, shiftiness, and crease work to attack aggressively and create scoring opportunities. She also makes a major impact in the draw circle, leading the team and the conference. On defense, she comes up with phenomenal caused turnovers; she is a machine. College coaches should keep a close eye on her because she is a true two-way midfielder with the ability to take over a game.     Wainwright's speed stands out. She is a small but mighty two-way midfielder who uses her quickness, hustle, and toughness to make plays all over the field. Defensively, she is relentless, and her ability to win ground balls gives Springfield extra possessions. She also works well in the draw circle, reading placements and scooping up balls placed to her by [player_tooltip player_id='72013' first='Eva' last='Lemieux']. She is the type of player who gets ground balls like they are glued to her stick. On offense, she is shifty, unselfish, and capable of finding the open teammate or finishing herself. Springfield has a bright future with these playmakers leading the way.     Summa brings grit, lacrosse IQ, and a strong presence around "X." She uses her body well to protect her stick, create space, and power her way toward the cage. She has a deep toolbox behind the goal, with the ability to dodge, feed, crease roll, and make smart decisions under pressure. Summa also makes plays in the ride, getting her stick in passing lanes to force turnovers and create opportunities for Springfield's offense.     Keffer is a speedy left-handed attacker who will continue her career at West Chester. She is a tough matchup because of her ability to dodge and re-dodge until she finds a lane to score. She plays low on the lefty side and back at "X." She uses smart off-ball movement, slip cuts, and strong field awareness to get open on the backside. Her IQ and finishing ability make her a key offensive piece for Springfield.     Gougler is a steady and reliable defender who consistently shows up for Springfield. She is strong on ground balls, smart in transition, and always looking to find the open player as she moves the ball up the field. Her defensive presence has been important all season, and her consistency was a major factor of their success this season. She will excel at West Chester.     Shandley is one of Springfield's strongest defensive players. She uses her height, stick skills, and positioning to disrupt passing lanes and create turnovers. She is an interception machine, strong in 1v1 situations, and helps Springfield transition the ball cleanly up the field.
